Another of our incredible Artists performing next Friday at a Musical Evening by Candlelight .......
A music studies graduate of Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin (UCD), Irish soprano Clare Kavanagh is a native of Co. Wexford.
Clare made her Irish operatic debut in 2009 as Frasquita in Lyric Opera’s production of Carmen in the National Concert Hall, Dublin. She has performed in many Lyric Opera productions since then, including La Boheme, The Magic Flute, and La Traviata. Other roles include Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, Adele in Die Fledermaus, Gianette in Don Pasquale, Mrs. F in Weill’s Street Scene and many more.
Clare was one of 20 young singers chosen to work with English National Opera in 2013 in their opera works programme. Since commencing her training with ENO she has appeared in recital at The National Portrait Gallery in Leicester square, The Sadler’s Wells Theatre and on the Coliseum stage.
Her role as Yum Yum in the Mikado won her the Best Female Singer award at the (AIMS) awards in 2009. She then reprised the role in Wexford Light Opera Society’s (WLOS) production of the Mikado in The National Opera House in 2011.
Clare has had the pleasure of frequenting The National Opera House stage on many occasions in guest soprano appearances with productions including The Magic of Vienna by Jim Molloy Promotions. She has also had the pleasure of working in The Helix and The Waterfront Belfast.
Clare is very grateful to have received support from ArtLinks and Wexford Co Council in the past in order to further her studies.

Future engagements include performances with Edible Opera in London and Clare is delighted to have been asked to sing in The National Concert Hall Dublin on April the 19th at the official launch of composer and pianist Simon Quigleys album and short film 41 46’ North. Clare sang on Simons newly composed track Ryan v The White Star Line and will appear in the short film about the making of this composition.
